Jeremy Grier (b. 1994 Hartford, CT) is a photo based artist whose work and practice fits into the lineage of Black portraiture by exploring themes of intimacy, identity, and belonging, which affirm the expressive nature of Black life — both subtle and overt. In this way, his projects ground beauty as more than performance, but as constitutive to the complexity and vitality of people of African descent. Grier graduated from Yale University with his Masters of Fine Arts degree in Photography from the Yale School of Arts in 2025.
He has shot client work for The Studio Museum, Interview Magazine, Document Journal, & The Highline to name a few. Additionally, he has been commissioned by publications such The New York Times, Washington Post, and Deem Journal.
